Today on TokyoMango

9-3.jpgToday on TokyoMango, I wrote about a new web site that lets women vent and seek advice anonymously; why the Japanese don't cheer out loud at the Olympics; and the biggest geek dance party ever.

ZOMG at the last link! A huge Caramelldansen gathering!? We should totally organize those here!

Dansa med oss
Klappa era hnder
Gr som vi gr
Ta ngra steg t vnster
Lyssna och lr
Missa inte chansen
Nu r vi hr med
Caramelldansen
O-o-oa-oa...

My one qualm about this song is that I could never figure out how to pronounce the lyrics just by their text... Well apparently the Japese fixed that problem by changing the "Ooh Ooh Oowa Oowa" to "uu uu uma uma" and just focusing on that single line...

Lol, the last time I saw so much concentrated geekery and awkward dancing was at ACen 08 a few months ago...

Oooh! I feel so horrible for the guy who's wife threw away all his robot model collection because it was too 'childish'! What a deal breaker in my book...

Whatever happened to women like Simone de Beauvoir?

"I like men to behave like men; strong and childish."

"biggest geek dance party ever"

these kind parties have been organized in Japan since almost 10 years ago (or almost it's the first time I attended). If I'm not wrong the biggest ever has been organized in a huge tent during a Natsucomi 9 years ago.
Dance style is basically an evolution of PARA PARA, video are taken form the new Japanese MTV called NICO NICO (Lisa wrote about it), the music is mainly DOUJIN music (it's not electro, it's Otaku Trance with some happy hardcore tracks and a bit of chiptune)... basically these are an evolution of traditional Cosplay Parties... more crazy than any rave I ever attended since everyone is totally drug free!! ^_^
