PICNIC 08 -- Amsterdam, Sept 24-26

From 24 to 26 September 2008, thousands of creative minds from all over the world will come together in Amsterdam for the third PICNIC. PICNIC is a playground for scientists and hackers, a showcase for big media companies, a wonderful cross over between the worlds of arts, entertainment and technology.
From 24 to 26 September in Amsterdam, tickets from 95 to 1245 euro, art programme and labs are free. Live stream of the conference will be on www.picnicnetwork.org.

I spoke at this last year and had a great time. Nice speaker-list this year, too, including Clay Shirky and Jeff Jarvis. Create the Future with us at PICNIC'08 (Thanks, Monique!)

To the readers of this page... hey, PICNIC is NOT expensive. In fact, it might be one of the most accesssible events about. Let me get my sales hat on:

- full access to conference and everything around is, is 1245 Euro plus VAT, which is a lot of money, yes, but then again, it's the best event we know :-).

- but most people actually visit PICNIC for the 'specials' and 'labs'. Many conference speakers appear there as well plus a wide range of specialists in their field. Day passes only cost 95 Euro incl lunch and you can visit any specials from 9 in the morning until 22.00 in the evening AND join the networking and the parties that make PICNIC so special.

- If you get selected to join a lab, access is free. 1.000 students attend the PICNIC Academy for free. 1.000 school kids have a week of free cross media workshops. Three days of lectures on electronic art are free. And so on.

So to take out your calendar and join us on 24-26 September..
