Today on
TokyoMango, I blogged about a guy who
turns into a robot from a Hayao Miyazaki anime; a new technology that
fights bird flu; and a silly man who
kept 51 poisonous snakes in his house (and got bitten by one); and Tokyo's (slightly controversial)
total dominance in the world restaurant scene. Oh, and this was yesterday, but there's a new Wii game that
turns you into a competitive eater. Good night!

how about blogging on more relevant Japan themed topics?
Running concurrently with the silly season 51 snakes story, and probably more in sync with Boing Boing is the news item of the Japanese police trying to revamp their image and stave of criticism of the methods of policing - holding suspects for up to 30 days without access to a lawyer, suspects being held by the same police that interrogate them, and depending entirely on confessions to prove guilt.
The method they believe will encourage the public trust in their methods? Installing 2 way mirrors on interview rooms so high ranking officers can observe their colleagues at work.
