Printcrime in Hiligaynon and Romanian

The fan-translations of my short-short story Printcrime keep on rolling in: today there's one in Hiligaynon (an Austronesian language spoken in Western Visayas in the Philippines) and another in Romanian, contributed, respectively, by Lorna Belviz-Pajo and Alex Brie. It's just so wicked-cool to see your work take on a life of its own -- I didn't even know that Hiligaynon existed until a few minutes ago! Hiligaynon's also known as Ilonggo, by the way.

I find it really interesting that so many little-known languages are spoken by large groups that often exceed populations of more familiar countries. Hiligaynon is a case in point - it has more than 8 million native or near-native speakers, which is about the size of Austria's population.

For a Tagalog speaker like me, some of the other dialects really mess with your mind. Cebuano in fact look like Tag in some kind of alternate universe.

But Ilonggo. . . geez. Is this just for completionists? Who's going to actually read that? I can assure you that Filipinos, by and large, aren't interested in forking over the 20P/hour required for an internet cafe to read current events short stories. Then again I always go to the cheap, dumb cafes where they still play Counterstrike.
