Cape, goggles and XKCD

Last weekend, I was one of the guests of honor at 3PiCon in Springfield, MA, along with Randall "XKCD" Munroe, who once infamously depicted me as blogging from a hot-air balloon in cape and goggles. This has become a motif for me, so that wherever I go, people give me capes and/or goggles. I brought along a set and wore them to our final panel together on Sunday, and Dan Noe, the Pi-Con photographer, got some nice shots of the event. 3Pi-Con (Thanks, Dan!)

Very cute! But what are those two black lines emanating from the back of your head?
#1: The visual manifestations of his spiritual rabbit ears, ofc.
Incredibly cute. I have the most massivest of crushes on Randall.
He's so dreamy! *twirls hair*
@#1, those are his alien feelers. (or the door post)
@#3, you and me both! Brains are so sexy. He is dreamy! *bats eyelashes*
Speaking as a con attendee, thanks again for coming to Pi-Con. The few of your panels I saw you were interesting, witty and otherwise great to listen to. And it was fun getting to chat with you in the lobby as well.
What brand of goggles are those?
Holy blog! Cory-Doctorow is Batman!
I wore the red cape and goggles for one of my Halloween costumes last year, but I think there was only one person who got the joke.
This should have been taped and posted on Youtube. I mean, I'm sure my two favorite web personalities rolled into one event wouldn't interest only me, but also many hundred others.
YES.
If that really is Cory Doctorow on the left, then he has become undeniably cute.
long lost cousin?
I actually had a dream last night about a pack of Smurfs hunting down Cory in the Most Dangerous Game fashion because they mistook him for Gargamel.
I don't THINK I ate anything weird before bed last night.
West Springfield, wasn't it? I went to the first of those, hoping I'd meet West Springfield fandom, and found that everybody had driven in to the convention from somewhere else. Then after the second one we moved, and right away we found out you'd be a guest. Presumably, they're going to torment me with this every time, just to punish me for moving.
Cory and Randall are great, but I think the real star of the show was isitchristmas.com
Make sure to check out the rss feed!
In a previous life, Cory must have been a medieval monkey superhero. Proof here:

Note the cape and goggles-like eyes.
