Loving city photos

Wired's current reader photo challenge is to send in pics of cityscapes that epitomize your town. There are some beautiful little urban valentines in this lot -- I love cities on general principles, and it's pretty clear to me that these photos are shot with a lot of affection. Shown here, by Kristoffer N's "Mumbai India." Link

" I love cities on general principles"
please explain.
Are some truths not self-evident?
no
what? you don't think you are`as good as me?
Shame that Wired's format for this page sucks so much ass.
That view frame is indeed remarkable.
#6: The Reddit page (which is what's embedded in the horribly undersized frame on the Wired page) is marginally better. Warning: none of the images are resized, and there's a 3456px × 2304px one in there.
Beautiful photos, though.
thanks Kieran!
I, too, love cities on principle. Places where people gather to take a shot at life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness...you can't do that in a village or shire.
Much appreciated link, Kieran.
You're most welcome. :)
National Geographic lets you vote on your favorite reader-submitted shots of the week, and the best ones get published in the magazine. Doesn't have to be cities:

Hmmm ... I have a beautiful photo I took of sunset over the Canary Wharf tower, through a barbed wire fence in Canning Town, which quite aptly represents my experience of (East) London.
Unfortunately that was in the days when I was using film, and the print and neg are on the other side of the world (and in my memory).
I love one fleeting moment... and Memories from Concrete

I have a blog as part of this ring, http://citydailyphoto.com/portal/ where people generally try to post a picture a day taken in their city. It's nice as they tend to be "average" people and you get to see the cities (big and small) in ways that others usually don't.
Shit. As I was putting gasoline in my tank this morning, I noticed that some other patron was emptying his personal tank onto the concrete. I was tempted to take a picture with my iPhone, but I didn't want to get shot, stabbed, beat up, or worse.
SoSide of Pittsburgh has people that will pee on anything, anytime, anywhere.
