These fantastic photos are from a Flickr pool devoted to Ballardian imagery. According to the Collins English Dictionary, "Ballardian" is an adjective "resembling or suggestive of the conditions described in (my favorite novelist JG) Ballard’s novels & stories, esp. dystopian modernity, bleak man-made landscapes & the psychological effects of technological, social or environmental developments." I love Ballard. I just wish he's write a different book occasionally. Still, the way he writes it is always engaging enough to make me come back for more.

@TOMMY (#1), I kinda hear what you're saying. The last few novels have been somewhat similar thematically. But that's actually one of the things I like about him. He works those themes like nobody else. Anyway, my favorites are Crash, Concrete Island, and Cocaine Nights. Those are actually very different from each other :)

"He works those themes like nobody else."

Agreed. That's why I love him so.

Aficionados of Ballard visuals are advised to also pore over Rick McGrath's great collection of JGB book covers and other material:
