Michael Blumlein's stories online
Charles Platt says: "My friend Michael Blumlein, who has written some of the most disturbingly surreal and quietly subversive stories in the English language, has established a web site at www.michaelblumlein.com. The site is modest, like Michael himself, but includes a couple of his stories as PDFs. They're worth reading." Link

It's criminally hard to get a hold of his stuff. After his story "Shed His Grace" appeared in the SF edition of Semiotexte (pushing the definition of SF quite far and making lots of people feel slightly naseous) I searched around and managed to get his odd novel about obesity on other planets Movement Of Mountains and a proof copy of his short story collection Brains Of Rats. He's a very interesting writer, having been a surgeon I think. Just noticed he had a book out called Healer, which I've never seen anywhere, Amazon here i come....
"The Healer" is absolutely wonderful - a worthwhile read, though quite an eerie one. Should be able to get it at Barnes & Noble...
Have to say....looking at that website gives absolutely no indication as to how good a writer he is, and might even put people off even trying to find out.....
