Inasmuch as the article describes the nudibranchs as "naked as a newborn" perhaps it would more accurate to describe Mr. Doubilet as the Spencer Tunick of the of the marine gastropod world.

They look like... You know those little rubber dinosaurs you get from the grocery store's 25-cent vending machines that expand in size when you put them in water? Nudibranchs look like one of those after they've dried and shriveled up. They probably smell the same too: Moist Rubber of Undetermined Origin.
Coincidentally, that will be the name of my next rock band.

As someone who's photographed a lot of nudibranchs, these photos are spectacular. The only good thing about these guys is that they move pretty slowly.
These would fit right into a Jim Woodring comic.
