Down and Out in the Magic Kingdom in French

FolioSF has just published the French edition of my first novel, Down and Out in the Magic Kingdom, translated by Gilles Goullet under the title "Dans la dèche au Royaume Enchanté." It's available in fine stores throughout the French-speaking world, and, of course, on Amazon.fr. Link

That's a great cover picture. Not sure it's got much to do with the actual contents (it's been a while since I read it) but it's a great interpretation of the title.

the title translation is copied on the Georges Orwell's Down and Out in London and Paris french title : dans la dèche à Paris et à Londres. Nice reference !!!

Hey, that is a great book! I just read it on my iPod Touch and am now getting into Someone Comes To Town, Someone Leaves Town, which is very different. I enjoyed Down and Out...so much that I'm now thinking of taking my vacation to Disney World!

dèche means misery, en bon français.

it means something altogether naughtier in Canadian French slang. hint: bukake.
