The funnyhunters at Nerve have compiled a list of the 50 greatest commercial parody videos of all time. Above, the ecstasy egg. I could not agree more with their number one choice.

I could not agree more with their number one choice.

CLIP #01: "We're sorry, but the clip you selected isn't available from your location. Please select another clip."

# 3 beat me to the punch!

Where is Log? Log had it all, snappy graphics, a jingle that embedded itself permanently into your brain and a dead on send up of the baby boomer TV ads.

Log pwns the Bass-O-matic!

I thought you guys were SpumCo fans!

"It's a floor cleaner!"

"No it's a dessert topping!"

"It's both a floor cleaner AND a dessert topping!!!"

Also, don't forget, "Pre-chewed Charlies" (restaurant)

The 50 greatest commercial parodies of ALL TIME and every one made by Americans! What a magnificent achievement. Now that's funny.

Since it doesn't include the Roseanne/Kevin Nealon "Metrocard" commercial from SNL 1991, then it isn't the 50 greatest.

Looks like I was born in the wrong region again. Honestly what do these companies stand to gain from region locking clips? Dimwits.

Another bitten by region locking, here. Grr.

Folks at boingboing. I love what you do and have discovered a hundred cool sites and podcasts because of you but please dont' put stuff up which 90% of the world can't see.

Thanks boingboing

@nem0fazer, Those of us living in the U.S. have no way of telling that any of these clips are region locked, it's not BB's fault that the stupid video hosting companies did that, go complain there.

@nem0fazer, I have to agree with #15 despite the fact that I live in Canada and also cannot see most of the videos. =(

I actually have most of the SNL ones, unfortunately they are on Motion Pixels Movie CDs. Must hook drive to Windows laptop so I can soak in nostalgia.

What, no Homocil? The tag line at the end gets me every time:

A Bass-O-Matic follow-up I remember from the Dan Aykroyd era: the Rovco Chinch Ranch, which lets you breed chinchillas for coats and meat ("Mmmm, that's great chinch!").

I can not heap enough contempt on a media player designed not to play in my country...

How could they leave off KFC Shredders from SNL? That single parody made fun of just about every "extreme" commercial gimmick there is.
