Mudpuppy Magnet Monsters in a tin

Mudpuppy's Magnetic Monster figures tin is a great gift for the monster-loving kid in your life -- it's a set of lovely illustrated magnetic monster body-parts to mix and match into your own gruesome creations. Comes with four reversible backgrounds for enacting monstrous dramas of your choosing -- and the tin is just the right size to stick the backgrounds on and build monsters upon -- great for car trips and the like. I found mine at the wonderful, friendly kid store Hello Sunshine in Toronto, but they don't seem to have it in their webstore, so here's a US retailer that'll sell you one over the web, for those of you not local to the shop. will these work on a refrigerator or are they like the plastic window magnets that are more or less just stickers?

I have these!!!

When the characters are built, they're 7 1/2 inches, on average. The backgrounds are 6 x 8 1/2 inches.

I even thought of photographing some of the characters on the backgrounds, and framing the prints in a clutster somewhere in my house. They're really cool :)

Yes- they work on my 'fridge, and the sides of my old metal desk- so I have them split up, some in both places. I got mine at my campus bookstore- and I remember there was another set. 'Maybe a castle/princess/ fairies sort of theme?

I have sons 4 and 11, who both like to play with them. It's a toss-up whether I bought them more for me or them ;)

I guess the above link is already Out of Stock.
I found them on sale at http://goblinfishpress.bigcartel.com/ for $12 Paypal + 8.00 shipping -- ridiculous shipping costs right?
but still $2 cheaper than other places online selling for $14 + 8.00 shipping
You're lucky you found them in person and avoided the shipping costs...

They look like a lot of fun. I might get them for my kids, only I have visions of the pieces getting scattered and lost after a couple of days! Anything that stops kids watching TV is a good thing.

These sound a lot like Colorforms, only magnetic.

Did anyone else play with these as a kid? I understand they still make them. I remember the Peanuts one, and Rocky & Bullwinkle. I wish I still had those sets.

After all, I'm only 56. That's not too old to play with Colorforms, is it? ;)
