Artist Phoebe Washer, RIP
Phoebe Washer, a young and highly talented San Francisco artist, tragically died on Monday. The 20-year-old was hiking with a friend in the Marin Headlands when she fell off a cliff. We send our condolences to Phoebe's friends and family. She left us with a beautiful body of work. Link to Pheobe Washer's site, Link to SF Gate article (Thanks, Greg Long!)

Sad indeed. If anyone knows of memorial service plans or condolence information, I'd be grateful if they posted about it.
Best to those who loved her.

#3 I'm sure her friends and family will be comforted by your wry observation.
so sad. rest in peace
I dunno when it was that I met you, but it sure seems like I did?
My condolences to all the people who were her friends and family, from a random stranger.
That is a shame, Rest in Peace....
So sad. Only the good die young...
"...when she fell off a cliff." ???
I was bracing for murder, fatal disease, etc...but cliff? Damn.
And the snippet above makes it sound like she was Wile E. Coyote or something, but in the article it does specify that some rocks gave way under her and she fell.
I'm on a Bay Area Police Scanner mailing list.
Someone on the list recorded video of the Coast Guard helicopter landing after her body was recovered on YouTube. No, this isn't a RickRoll, that would be in extremely poor taste.

It is sad when the world takes someone so young and with such potential.
Actually she died only yesterday (Mon 4/14).
I too fell 50' from cliff when 22 fem hiking with bf at pt reyes. i survived cuz i hit the water. i fell because it was windy and also because the rock broke away.
i know that for me as soon as i knew i had fallen i asked to leave my body so i would not feel the pain of landing on the ground (i did not know i would land in the water) and so i left my body on way down and did not come too until realized i was in water, which felt so warm.
i can assume she also was protected from any pain.
in fact this lesson taught me not to fear death for you are protected at the moment, just like you don't rememeber the pain of birth.
