BB, BBtv featured in Time's index of blogs [tags: self-referential hoo-hah]
Time Magazine just published their first-ever index of blogs (hay gahz! what took ya so long!), and generously included Boing Boing (and a screenshot of Boing Boing tv) in the mix. Thank you, Time! Readers can vote on their favorite blogs (heh), if so inclined. I was really happy to see some longtime friends and sharers of post-fodder in the mix, too, including Wired Threat Level, and my friend Reverse Cowgirl, whose writing about the sex trade became particularly topical for a wider audience this year after the Spitzer scandal. Kudos, all!

And I look at the blog rankings and some site I never heard of (some right-wing thing apparently) has nearly ten times the votes of the next highest entry. Online voting just doesn't work.
yay to all my pals at boingboing HQ! is the next stop national geographic or american funeral director's magazine?
Andrew: Why not both? I want to do a centerfold shoot with my corpse draped over a Star Trek photon torpedo casket.
Joel, I think your corpse is supposed to be INSIDE the photon torpedo casket.
Why do people go to the bother of making up a whole new account, just to be snarky and insulting? (#1)
It's fun reading your comment and then glancing up at your "Radio Radio" painting that's on the wall in my office, Andrew.
Is there a link to a list of the Time top blogs? I went to the site and read the reviews of all the blogs, but can't find anywhere that lists them all for easy reference.
@Elorin: they sort of hide it to make people click all over their site. Here's the complete list of their top 25 blogs, which you can vote on:

Jake0748, I think it's because it's the only thing they can think of to do with the internet.
Bah! I've now read further. Ars Technica does not belong on the list of most overrated blogs. Their dismissive summary --
-- says far more about the reviewer than it does about the blog.I see they also dislike I Can Has Cheezburger. That's shooting fish in a barrel. No one thinks ICHC is high art; but given its traffic, an awful lot of the people who don't think it's high art are reading it anyway.
Time.com's real problem with Ars Technica and I Can Has Cheezburger:
The blue line: the combined might of CNN and Time Magazine's organizations.
The puce line: a handful of staffers running a site where techies talk about "the art of technology."
The bronze line: a handful of staffers running a site where random netizens paste funny captions onto pictures of cats.
I haz a barrel.
Noooo! They be shootin fish in mah barrel!
Well, you started it.
Not me.
