Paul Smith's Boombox Briefcase

Helping me search for a new laptop bag, my wife came across designer Paul Smith's cool Boombox Briefcase. (Of course, this one is fabric, unlike the laptop case I posted about in 2005 that's actually made from an old boombox.) The Boombox Briefcase is $425 from Flight 001.

Check out the "Nylon Canvas Tech Field Bag" from Jack Spade - http://www.jackspade.com/shop/product.php?productid=19618&cat=306&sku=CH8446765C401

It's a great bag... i've had mine for 3 years now and its still in solid shape. A bunch of pockets, a bunch of compartments... and a removable laptop sleeve -- which means you just yank that out at the airport and you don't scratch your case on the conveyor.

Loop NYC has been making boombox bags for a while. Here's one on eBay for $10! Jesus, for $425, just buy the most bad-ass boombox you can find on ebay and put your laptop in a $5 canvas tote bag from a thrift store. What do you need a laptop for anyway? The speakers are way too small and they have no bass. Duh.

they're not serious, $400 bucks for a piece of fabric (not even leather)? how much effort could they have possibly put into designing that?
It looks like something out of a high school design contest, wouldn't even be the winner!

yeah $400 is ridiculous, though it does look cool.
but thats it isnt it, you're paying $399 for the "cool" factor.
if it were $50 i'd buy it.
