Record-breaking gathering of video game cosplayers

Guinness just orchestrated a record-breaking gathering of people in video-game-character costumes on the London Millennium Bridge. As impressive as this is, I find it hard to believe that there were more costumed warm bodies present at this event than at, say, the Tokyo Game Show. Link (via Wonderland)

Arbitrary cosplay, Comiket almost certainly wins. VG cosplay ONLY (leaving aside characters only secondarily game characters)? This might be a competitor.
Actually watched the video; my above statement is entirely wrong. Eighty? Don't make me fucking laugh. Otakon is able to put together single-source tableaux of that size.
Arguendo, let's allow Bleach characters as "Video Game Characters": A Picasaweb public album showing at least 100 cosplayers.
If I had half an hour to spend on fansview, I could probably beat the 80 for primarily-VG characters.
I've seen more than this so far. Heck, if Fanime called over the random VG cosplayers to one spot at any time the marketplace was open, they'd likely match if not beat this. And that would even be characters who started out as characters in games, not in anime.
Guessing there are more people at other cons though, but I can say for sure that there have been much larger gatherings so far and that the Guiness Book of WR just hasn't noticed yet.
Remember when the Guiness book of World Records was actually interested in recording amazing feats? It all went downhill after that horrible Fox show.
"Just over 80 people"? You gotta be kidding me.
I love the Spyro! ;-)
This is for the second gaming-specific edition, and will almost certainly be one of the first to fall...
Specifically it is set up as the largest gathering of people ONLY dressed as videogame characters, with the latter defined as characters who first appeared in games, rather than simply those who have, at some point or another, appeared in games.
BTW, I was there for GameSpot (our office is just around the corner from the Millennium bridge), and you can see me in my big, green suit!
Hope they had enough telephone booths for people to use for changing into their superhero costumes.
