being a native of the SF Bay Area I always thought Lombard Street was more crooked, and after reading a bit I guess I'm still confused. Vermont has less turns? I guess it'll take some that still lives there to inform me of the difference.
I dunno...it looks like everyone is having a good time and all. Seeing all those grownups playing like this though, I just can't shake the feeling of that 10 year old kid somewhere in Pakistan who can take apart and put back together an AK-47...blindfolded....in 10 seconds who is going to just RULE us someday. someday soon.
Somebody needs to tell that guy in the picture that his tire is flat and that wouldn't have happened if he had brought a BIG wheel to a big wheel race.
thanks for the tip elysianartist. henceforth i shall no longer enjoy myself. can't have those terrorists winning now, can we?
maybe leisurely stroll would lighten your burden, or have a soda or something. gosh.
Yeah, we Potrero Hill residents like to keep that fact hush hush. (THANKS CORY!) It's been like a secret handshake at times. "Oh, you live in Potrero Hill? So, I guess you know where the curviest street is." Winking and nudging follow. But now the party's over, CORY. I'm sure the tour buses will be here any minute.
Well, yeah, Vermont doesn't seem as "crooked" as Lombard, but that's such an imprecise term. The increasing radius turns on Vermont lend themselves to a nice race, though!
I too immediately though of Mr T when seeing this but then thought wait a minute, why the hair at the side? Is this guy paying homage to possibly the greatest arcade racer game ever devised? Power Drift.

if you haven't already, stumble over to Flickr for more photos from the race.
Here's the slideshow
Lombard, Vermont, and another street to remain unnamed all vie for 'crookedest' in San Francisco.
There's also a similar illicitly-organized race in another unamed part of the city in the early part of the year.
I pity the fool who doesn't find this amusing.

As I remember it all the characters had different names, does any one remember what the mohawk guy was called?
Mr T has wraparound hair.
