As usual, I haven't read any of the novels. Nice to see 'Doctor Who' up for two in Dramatic Short Form, even as the CBC--which co-produces the show--still dithers about whether to show the new season or not. Sorry, did I vent?

And while I love Torchwood, I wasn't sure 'Captain Jack Harkness' was *that* good....

Fanboy time: I want Charles Stross to win because his stuff is just fantastic. Go Stross Go!

It's a good list. Personally, I'm rooting for Scalzi, Stross, and Chabon, in that order.

There's an unfortunate error in the list posted by Denvention. It's the John W. Campbell Award for Best New Writer, not Best New Science Fiction Writer. Fantasy writers are fully eligible for it, and have won quite a few times.

It's the fifth year running that Charles Stross has been nominated in the Hugo Novel category, which must be a record. Whether he wins or not, it reflects his consistently excellent writing.

I'm also very pleased to see Shaun Tan's "The Arrival" get nominated. Overall, it's a much better list than the Nebulas.
