DRM-free BitTorrent video store from Sweden
Headweb is a new DRM-free video service from Sweden that sells feature films as DRM-free video-files; download them as torrents (earn credits for seeding them), burn them to DVD when they arrive. They've got 450 movies now and claim that they'll break 1000 in short order. They're also promising to open outside of Sweden soon. Link (Thanks, Per!)

I'm sorry for mentioning my own company, but it's appropriate in this instance.
EZTakes has been offering legal, DRM-free, burnable movie downloads for years. We have over 4,000 licensed movies (almost 10X Headweb); the software for burning any of our downloads to playable DVDs (with extras and special features) is built-into our free download manager (or you can use any other burning package); we support OS X and Windows; and we also have a option that lets you legally export a DRM-free MP4 to your iPod, Zune or other portable device.
I don't want to take anything away from the Headweb folks. I think what they are doing is great and I wish them the best of luck.

@ Jim Flynn, they aren't really free to download, though, are they. I think that was the point.
@MOON, I'm pretty sure the Headweb films aren't free, either. They're just DRM-free.
EZTakes is cool, btw. They're handling the release of the Joel Hodgson, et al. Cinematic Titanic discs.
EZTakes is interesting, that's true.
However, when EZTakes claims that they offer unbreakable DRM and digital copy protection, such a claim cannot be sustained.
DRM does not exist, since every digital file can be down-converted to analog and then redigitized: EZTakes is basically lying here.

Digital rights management (DRM) is a generic term that refers to access control technologies used by hardware manufacturers, publishers and copyright holders to limit usage of digital media or devices. DRM is controversial and rightfully so, as consumers avoid it wherever and whenever it crops up.
Ez-takes and its constant insistance on DRM, is more of a hindrance for any filmmaker and producer. The people who would use download features are realistically not there: they download from p2p sites anyways. DRM does not actually exist, because any content can be downgraded to analog and then digitzed again; thus ez-takes' claims of DRM are misleading, if mot false.
For independent producers other and better options such as filmbay ,brosmedia and xing are available. Their networking and distribution features are well beyond the standard fare, suggesting a web 3.0 notion. Indy producers need useful tools. Time will tell how things will pan out, but at least there are some good choices out there.

First, EZTakes has never claimed that it uses DRM, never mind unbreakable DRM.
Second, because he ignorantly fabricated a claim that is clearly false, Ron Corrington is a liar.

EZTakes has never used DRM. Consequently, it is impossble that the company had a "constant insistance on DRM" and there could be no "misleading claims" about DRM that it does not use.
Before witting things like that, responsible people do some fact checks.
