Here's part of the Ningyo-Do Bunko database of late 19th/early 20th century watercolour sketches of Japanese toy designs. There are more than 100 albums all told.

I love the old wooden Japanese toys. Almost every 100 yen store (think dollar store) has a little section for them. They're totally rad and keep me entertained for long periods of time. Kinda makes me want to start a new subculture: woodpunk...
