Manual Of The Diseases of the Eye
The fine folks at Morbid Anatomy spotted this delightful 1905 book, "Manual Of The Diseases Of The Eye" by Charles Henry My on Google Book Search. It's filled with curious illustrations, some more tear-inducing than others. Seen here, "The Media As Seen with Oblique Illumination and the Ophthalmoscope at a Distance. Pupil Dilated." Link

Delightfully, deliciously disconcerting!
Looks like a fly got caught in the scanner machine Henry Buttle style on page 38. :P

I'm having the same problem as Chr11s... :/
I love the wikipedia page on eye diseases, for some reason looking at the pictures of eyes with weird stuff is kind of interesting !! :S
People pay good coin to get contact lenses like that!
You can save all that money by just running your finger over a public toilet seat and then rubbing your eye.
I still think this is the coolest one:

Is an eye with the rage virus included?
Isn't this an old Crispin Glover favorite? I could have swore I saw/read him mention it like 20 years ago, not that that should take anything away from the awesomeness of it being posted on the tubes.
Is an eye with the rage virus included?
How about a lidless one, rimmed with fire?
This is excellent.
When I would come home from medical school for a weekend, friends would ask what I'd seen lately that was "gross". My usual reply was that I had no concept of gross.
This post reminds me of the lecture on eye trauma. It was a slide show. People were running from the room.
For some reason, Google Books doesn't let me read this 103 year old book, implying it's still copyrighted. WTF?
Nice random capitalization in the title there. Get a copy editor already.
Andrew M,
Three comments on BB and they're all hating on fonts or minor editing. Are you working for the reptilian overlords?
For those of you having trouble reading, care to explain further?
I simply clicked on the link, and clicked on "Download PDF" on the top-left section of the page, and I'm reading it now.
#5, I'd rather have one of these:

I've got two eye disease books of animal eyes that have a pop-up viewmaster included and viewmaster wheels of animal eye diseases in 3D!!!! Too cool not to look at... has anyone seen more medical viewmaster finds?

that link's not there. google sells me the book as being copyrighted or stuff - i can search within it and then get these wrips of paper with little or no content of the book.
maybe it matters from which country i access the service.
Easily fixed, uploaded it to MediaFire (this book is out of copyright, right?)
