Scan from 1964 fanzine called Odd

Pappy, the blogger of "Pappy's Golden Age of Comics" kindly scanned a story from a 1964 fanzine called Odd.

This early fanzine strip is from 1964. In a great little short by Marv Wolfman and artist Dave Herring perfectly captures the Wonder Woman comic. Odd was a fun fanzine, inspired by Harvey Kurtzman and Humbug.
The letters page is funny.

Very cool, thanks for the link. I guess it's a sign either I have a great memory or I am old (I'll run with the former) that I chuckled to myself noticing the giant dinosaur was labeled "Sinclair" and Blunder Woman's invisible jet was labeled "Revell". And BW putting her costume on backwards coz she's invisible to everyone including herself...funny stuff!

ODD was the first fanzine for which I did extensive comic art on ditto master, back when I was a teenager. There's more cool material from ODD online at Dave Herring's website at:

(Dave's site unfortunately eludes Google searches for "Dave Herring", and I had trouble finding it even though I knew it was out there.

Check it out. Great stuff.

Jay! Good to see you.

Takuan, it could be hekto, but I'm betting it's ditto.

It was ditto. The earliest ODDs (see covers at the link I posted above) were hectograph, but that primitive gel-based repro system wouldn't yield much more than 20 copies (if that). But with either hecto or ditto, the Herring Bros. were absolute masters in getting the best detailed color results.

Hi Teresa! Long time no see. Small world and all that.
