Hi! I'd just like to make a minor correction. The picture in this post does not show any "tagging". It's a picture depicting paper posters that have been applied to the wall/door.
The "clean" spots that Lummels noticed are not the result of the surface being cleaned but are of the glue/paste used to affix the paper to the surface.
Christ has it... those spots are just where wheatpaste was applied and not covered up by the new art.
It may not be tagging but unfortunately its the same crime....
I've considered doing something similar to a wall in my neighborhood-- I was going to put up "Ladies" and "Gentlemen" signs on either side of the wall.
I live a block or two away from these and the crackheads love to piss on our building's door. The piss flows under the door and makes a nice little pool inside where it becomes a real joy to clean up. A few years ago I put up a sign that said "Danger! High voltage! Don't piss here!", which completely solved the problem as long as the sign lasted....
unless I am mistook, that is not a WALL that is a DOOR. else, the grafitoid also stuck a lockplate and doorhandle onto the WALL.
I've seen variations on this. Search on a stencil site for "pissour" and you'll see what I mean.
That could certainly be a rude awakening for someone coming through the door. Whoops!!
I love how you can just barely see where the tagger cleaned the door before he left his own mark so the paint would stick.
