High schoolers rock video for Engineering Expo

Local commercial for an Engineering Expo featuring the coolest high school rock band in Maine, The Yukon Initiative.

The bad news is that the clip is 30-seconds long. I want to see the whole song! (If there is one.)

But the good news is that the clip is only 30 seconds long.

Having grown up and attended high school in Maine, I can rightfully say no- they are not the coolest high school rock band in Maine.

Awww. Come on people, they're adorable.

Good for them.

I thought this looked staged and I was right:

An advertising agency wrote the song and brought the girl in because they wanted a chick singer for the whole affirmative action look. So if it's the girl (who hopes for a career with Up With People) or the song that you like, that part is fabricated.

Just to set the record straight ...
My company produced this video. Of course it's somewhat "staged" - it's a TV commercial, professionally shot and produced.
However, the band is very real, 4 seniors from Yarmouth High. We wanted a female lead singer, so the band came up with her; she's a friend who has performed with them before and also attends the same school.
As far as the song is concerned:
The ad agency wrote the lyrics - that's it. The band came up with the music by themselves. What you see and hear is the result of a long day of improvising while filming.

Hope you enjoy the video!

So that means it's fabricated and there is not a whole song? :(

this is it - the whole song. It was never meant to be longer than 30 seconds, the duration of the commercial.

What has gotten you so interested in Maine lately? I'm from Maine, and there's definitely a lot of good original stuff going on there, but I wouldn't think much of it would garner this sort of attention.

If you want, I can tell you some great stories. Crazy ones.

It's an interesting and creative ad which I probably would have enjoyed more had I been able to hear it. The sound quality was terrible.
