Filmstrips scanned -- WWII Navy films, Alaska travelogue, anti-Japan propaganda

John's been spelunking in filmstrips from the Goodwill, putting up high-res, color-corrected scans of strips ranging from "a 1935 travelogue of Alaska, A very racial one called "The Jap His Honorable Self' and much information about WWII-era Philippines, Marianas, Bon, Bali and Marshall Islands." Link (Thanks, John!)

the link is: http://www.ir0ngruve.com/fs_gallery/ if you drop the colon off the link above it works fine. Plus it may have had the benefit of the boingboing effect. :)

I didn't do much in the way of color correction or high cool scanning on these. I just put them through a dukane film strip projector I got off ebay and snapped photos. :)

it may have been boingboinged momentarily. Seems to be running okay now.

Is there audio available for these? I'd like to hear it & follow along with the images.

@johnnyaction

Are these moving images or are they just slides? I have some friends at the Alaska Moving Image Preservation Association that might be interested in seeing that travelogue.

@evil jim

I wish there was. Believe me, if I had audio for these slides they would so be posted too.

@Pat Race
These are just film strip slides. A whole bunch of slides on a piece of 35mm slide film that I put through my dukane film strip projector.
