Brick Lane tile art

Today in my ongoing series of photos from my travels over the years: this new installation from street artist Asbestos, spotted on Brick Lane in London last Sunday. I really like the way this shot turned out. Link

What's the story with the sign? Is the street sign really in Bengali or is it a part of the art celebrating the International Language day on 2/21 (where Bengali is symbolical due to the fact that the day is to commemorate the language struggle in Bangladesh).

Yes, nice shot. Here's an idea: Take your best pics, artistacally arrange them, maybe with some of your poems (I'm sure you must have some), nice paper, nice cover, nice coffee table book. Besides, you can give it away here, but for those who want a signed Doctorow art book, they could order it POD. Or not.

Abhinaba:

The sign is in Bengali and is permanent. The street names on Brick Lane and some of its adjoining streets are posted in Bengali and English since there's a significant Bangladeshi community there (interspersed heavily too over the past decade or so by the skinny-jeaned hipsters who throw up this type of street art ).

Hmm. . . is that blue thing a security camera? So is there, somewhere, a picture of Cory taking a picture of a picture? Cool.

(Count me in for a copy or two of the coffee table book.)

...unless he is wearing one of those LED lights ;)

Anyway, thanks for the post Cory! This brought out some great links and I am always looking for new art to feature.

I third the book idea!

As Proto said: Count me in for at least one. And you don't think you're a salesman? Why do you think people like signed copies of books?
