Synapses are the connection between cells. This one looks like a cell itself -- not just a synapse.

My brain-scientist-sweetie would love to have one of these -- I hope I can get this at Kawaii in Pittsburgh...

@DREW (#1), Yes, you're of course correct about the neuron vs. synapse. I made the correction. My synapses must have been blocked. ; )

These are maybe too cute for feline consumption, but I think my cat would go crazy for the petrie dish 3-pack of mini-neurons.
