Bible story comix featuring giant killer robots

Mecha Manga Bible Heroes is a series of graphic novels featuring "action-packed mecha-manga art and adventure-filled tales from the Old Testament." Shown here, the cover for #1, the David and Goliath issue.

The characters, stories and themes remain the same. Only the setting has changed – to a futuristic world of robots, aliens and advanced technology!

I love the concept, it seems silly and will probably be great fun.

but the character design is absolute crap, though. no offense to the artists, but the least they could have done was not letting the "human" characters look like an amateurish web manga attempt.

Great, now people will realize that these bible stories are pretty fantastical, and that they pretty much suck. An episode of the Simpsons far exceeds the quality displayed in the bible.

I've always wondered about people saying this is "the most perfect book ever written." Yeah, Lot is saved from Sodom, and his wife looks around and is turned into salt - why? Because they added later that God said so. Then Lot's daughters all console their ancient dad by sleeping with him. OK, this is about the only interesting part of the book. But what is the take-home message? Sadom and Gamorra was destroyed because of their perverse ways, and now we got the one agent of God getting over his wife's death from that very morning by doing the same thing. I only show this one example, because the rest of the book is "and Abraham begat Joshua,..." -- I keep expecting a grocery list in there.

Oh yeah, this all makes perfect sense. Just add robots.
