Warrantless wiretapping explained by Snuggle the Security Bear

Danny from the EFF says,
Mark Fiore has a great little animated sequence explaining the U.S. government's domestic spying program from the point of view of the cutest homeland security advocate in the world -- Snuggly the Security Bear!

"I'm the Bear, The Bounty Bear. I find them here. I find them there. I find them, anywhere. I'm searching... I'm searching... give me a minute... I've got him! This is your guy."
sounds cool,better than Brainwave

That was so deeply disturbing.
Why can't we ordinary citizens pool together some money to put stuff like this on the airwaves? Too many people in US are unaware that there is such an issue at all!
I love this little movie. I wish I was creative enough to come up with stuff like this.

What you're describing is called an assurance contract.Of course, you'll also run into the problem of conglomerates, such that the megacorporations who can afford licensing the monopoly rights to use specific broadcast frequencies from the FCC may turn down your offer because it conflicts with their other investments, subsidiaries, and strategic interests.
Instead of creating a brand new character, they should have gone with a proven winner.
Alright, if we had only been doing stuff like this on the public airwaves five years ago, we wouldn't be chuckling at it now. Seriously, this is brilliant, but why can't we do ad campaigns like this? Other than the fact the whole democratic party hasn't been able to get up off it's collective !@#$ for the past 30 years. It's enough to make me think that the last effective liberal president we had was Nixon.
As an addendum, check out the Spineocrat cartoon. It reinforces what I just haphazardly said beautifully.

guess BoingBoing can't compete with O'Reilly,
What, so they didn't name the bear Mohammed? oh.
A couple of the above posters don't seem to know the full story or are willingly ignoring the definitely illegal portion of what happened so they can chastise bb authors, given that there *are* documented cases of this illegal wiretapping being performed when there was a US citizen on the American side of the call. The FISA allowance for such wiretaps specifically allows the tap without court authorization but requires seeking such authorization within 72 hours of initiating the tap. And when that authorization is not granted, all intelligence gathered from the tap is inadmissible.
I don't think I would mind eavesdropping so much as long as it was the warantless wiretapping teddy bear.
