Short video makes fun of to-do list mania

This video is oh-so-wrong, but I got a good chuckle out of it, especially since I'm a list freak. (If I complete a task that I forgot to add to my list, I'll add it to the list after the fact and then cross it off.)

Terrific music by Patrick & Eugene is called "The Birds and the Bees" (Via Random Good Stuff)

Haha. He looks a bit like a friend of mine.

Take a look at this

haha, I totally do that too. It makes you feel so much better when you can see what you've just done, crossed off on your to-do list :)

He's getting things done!

But... but... if he does that at the end, how is he going to cross it off the list?

Guns don't kill people. To-Do Lists kill people.

He was just all so efficient about it.

Remember that phone call? Someone's coming over to check that thing off the list for him.

Or something.

Is there an opposite to the to-do-list guy? Because that is me.

This easily reminded me of my favorite Kids in the Hall skit: "Things To Do."

Kevin: "Things to do, things to do today. Got a big day ahead of me, several things to do. Gotta' keep on top of my life, gotta' keep on top of my life. I have seven things to do. Number one: Banking. Number two: Pick up dry cleaning. [He walks into an old lady and knocks her down.] Okay, ya just knocked over an old lady, keep moving, ya got seven things to do...."

The whole skit can be found here: :)

It just needs a little splatch of CG blood at the end to make it properly authentic (in order to get all the way up to 100% wrong).

You do that too, Mark? Many's the time I'll be in the grocery store and say, "Oh, shoot, we forgot to add peanut butter to the list." A moment later, with peanut butter in hand, my sweetie says, "What are you writing?" I say, "Peanut butter." While she's laughing at me, I cross it off.

#10... "Is there an opposite to the to-do-list guy? Because that is me."

I would echo the sentiment modifying it slightly to say, 'Is there an opposite to the to-do-list guy? Because that is MY WIFE'. I swear, I don't know why we can never find anything that was just there five minutes ago, or leave on time...

Ooops, I said too much. I'm doomed. Don't read this...

I'm somewhere in between, I suppose.

I rarely make lists when I go to the store, and I always regret it later.

On the other hand, I'm the type who nearly always shows up on time and I get frustrated with types who invariably come dragging in twenty minutes later.

And remember you can't fix the car without a whole, lotta, milka.

I want to punch that guy in the face. Srsly.

Took me a minute to place it, but the music from a
cute car commercial from a couple years back – the Volkswagon Rabbit. Ridiculously catchy.

Well, was also used in, I should say.

I love it! That guy's great.

...and Mark, you are not alone in your to-do list habit. I'm so ashamed to admit it, but I will also add things just to cross them off.

Thought the same thing as soon as I read the title. Thanks for posting the link !

Love the myopic zooms that open and close that skit. ..and the clash between the two opposing plans and characters.

"..gotta' keep on top of my life, gotta' keep on top of my life."

"..or this'll happen to you"

I make To-Do Lists, then I completely ignore them.

Very cute video :) I am also a compulsive list maker. I have several online lists, a million spreadsheet lists and an entire notebook of lists :) I also keep lists on my calendar! I blame my husband but i was already hopeless long before I met him :)
