BB reader Chris Thompson says, "You remember Will Wright's new game, Spore. Well, now there's a release date. Awesome!" Link. Wired's gaming blog has more. The streets will surely be free of humans on September 7, 2008, for all will be glued to their monitors.

What? March 3? I thought it was September 7, 2008.
Um, by "March 3", do you really mean "September 7"? Because that's what all the links seem to say. :)
The new release date announcement clip on the official spore site says September 7th, 2008.
I can't wait until this game is released - I loved playing SimLife back in the day and I'm so totally excited to try this one out.
::explodes into tiny pieces quivering with anticipation::
Coincidentally, they released the release date for an evolution game on Darwin day.

Of course, this release date is actually just another delay.

Awesome*
*maybe they planned it that way?
This comes out on my birthday! It'll be a great gift for a nerd like myself.
Starting to sound like duke nukem forever. They've been talking about this game for years.
Yea I saw a huge demonstration on the web years ago. I loved how he took it from microscopic to interstellar space travel. And how you can download other peoples worlds to explore them.
Sounds really great.
10:1 says it will be delayed again!
hell yes...
There is a 14 min demo from Will (the creator) at the TED website: http://www.ted.com/index.php/talks/view/id/146
and KUDOS to EA for a simultaneous Mac release!!
Also I recommend this YouTube video (From the 2006 E3 convention, I believe) where Robin Williams demos the game.

Ironically, Spore is more of an "intelligent design" game than an evolution game.
My boyfriend and I have come to the conclusion that when this game is released, and we get our hands on a copy, both of our lives will end. No one will EVER see us again.
Because we will be making creatures that EATYOURFACE. Or you know, snuggle you into a cuddly doom.
Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
