Maker Faire tryouts in Los Angeles, Saturday, February 9

Are you ready for Maker Faire Bay Area 2008? The call for makers is open now!

Come to the Los Angeles tryouts on February 9, 2008, from noon to 4pm at Machine Project, 1200 D North Alvarado Street, Los Angeles, CA 90026. Please download this application form, fill it out, and bring it with you.

San Francisco tryouts are on February 17.

(If you don't want to come to tryouts, you can also apply online.)

Mark, I'm not sure, but I'm guessing that your bandwidth usage is going to skyrocket (or someone's anyway) because you linked the movie in such a way that it loads the whole thing each time someone visits BoingBoing.

Normally I cringe in horror when I see "Faire"s or "Shoppe"s. I suppose I can give on this one, as faire is "to make" in French.

Doesn't mean I have to like it though.

GAH! Please don't ever embed video that way again. I cannot express how irritating and annoying that was without using very strong language. :( There's no way to stop it! Even loading the page to comment started it playing again. #$^%@%^@

I must stand by #7's comment. It is extremely annoying to have auto-playing video embedded like that. At the very least, please place that behind the cut.

It might be my lame computer, but so far this post has been making Firefox freak out and shut down every time I come to BB (I'm at work now). Hope it's resolved soon.
