Wired's running a gallery of photos of the work of Christopher Conte, an artist who is also "an artificial limb designer and hobbyist robotics engineer." He builds lovely cyberpunky fantasies that we've featured here before, and Wired's photographer did a great job capturing them. Link

This nightly exchange is becoming imbued with a sacramental quality. And I don't really mean that in a good way.

Having spewed that, why is it that humans with long, slender legs are appealing and other creatures with long, slender legs are creepy?

I think it has more to do with digits that could pierce your flesh being creepy.

Actually, I was thinking of the B'Omarr Monk character from Star Wars: Return of the Jedi.
