Cork case for iPhone

Corkphone When my four-year-old daughter saw my new cork-lined Elan Form from Griffin Technology, she said, "You got new clothes for your iPhone!"

And a dandy duds they are. The poly carbonate case, lined with cork, snaps on tight, and during the week or so I've used it, it's yet to pop open accidentally and reveal its nether parts to the public. It lists for $29.99. (Update: $18.32 on Amazon) Link

good, if this catches on we might be able to save the cork tree (damned plastic wine corks!)

I've had the leather one for a few months now and I haven't had trouble with it popping open either.

it amuses me that your four year old daughter knows it's an "iphone" not a phone.

Great, yet another reason for the destruction of cork trees; we should be able to completely annihilate them in no time! enjoy your "clothes" for your iphone.

friend of mine has that case. I'll admit its got a real nice feel that contrasts well with the screen of the iPhone. I'm pretty sure it can handle scratching better than an uncased iPhone.

Re Takuan: Huh? Wouldn't it "catching on" mean that the remaining cork trees get used up even faster?

no demand can also mean no cultivation

Re: Cork, it's renewable. They harvest the bark of the tree without killing the tree ... then eventually it grows back and it's harvested again. It's good like that.

Anybody checked the link? Even though they show pictures of both the leather AND cork cases, they don't mention a word about (or show where to order) the cork one. Anyone experience the same? I would love to get one of these for my wife, because it covers the corners of the device. And every one of the 123 times she's dropped hers, that's always where it lands.

have you been crazy enough to see if the cork case floats with the iPhone in it? That could make all the difference if you accidentally dropped it in the loo!

Your iPhone case has nether parts? Um... no, too many questions there.

Thanks SUE GRANT! Is BoingBoing great or what?
