BBtv: Tape Man / U2 3D
Boing Boing tv pal Matt West interviews Danny Scheible, an artist who makes elaborate, luminous, wearable art from masking tape. One of his better known works was an entire city constructed from masking tape and painter's tape, called "Tapigami."
Next, a sneak preview from U2 3D, a stereoscopic 3D movie opening this week in US theaters which showcases the band's use of technology to create immersive experiences for fans in concert. There's a blog for the film here.

Regarding 3D Movies, I do not have stereoscopic vision. I only use 1 eye to see. Recently I saw one of these 3D Movies and I was worried it just wouldn't work. Well if I didn't wear the glasses it'd look like crap but once I wore glasses and saw the movie through subtle tint/polarization it worked. I didn't see anything 3D but I was able to watch the movie just fine.
So to the monocles out there, don't avoid 3D movies just because you lack stereoscopic vision, it'll still ``work''.
I saw Angelina Jolie in 3D in Beowulf the other night, fantastic....... The only reason I can see for having Bono in 3D is the illusion I could reach out and slap him. At the Beowulf screening they showed 3D clips from U2-3D it really did look... pointless and not very effective, although I'm sure I saw a bottle of yellow liquid being thrown almost at me.
