Marching band's classic video game themed halftime show

In this video, the UC Berkeley marching band performs a video-game-themed halftime show, playing the beloved themes from such old friends as Tetris, Zelda, Mario Brothers and others, all the while marching in animated formation and reenacting scenes from the game. Bravo! Link

Call me when Velvet Knights or Crossmen or Blue Devils do something similar faster.

In a televised game I saw a while back, I heard the Texas Tech Marching Band use the Mario Brothers theme in the repertoire of songs they played in the stands -- I don't know if they used it on the field or not.

And I know some drum and bugle corps used a Mario Brothers bass drum cadence YEEEEAAAARS ago. (That may have been Santa Clara Vaguard, but I'm not too sure.)

I think the Velvet Knights organization just recently came back from the dead. So they probably have a couple zombie shows to get out of their system before they can consider doing Mario Brothers.:-) (This comment is not to be construed as a rumor that the Velvet Knights are putting a zombie show on the field. I'll spread that rumor in a more appropriate forum.:-P)

Pretty amazing, but why didn't they set off some fireworks over the castle after Mario pulled down the flag at the end? That would have been the perfect finale.

Just fantastic. I loved the mascots coming out of the pokeballs and fighting! (though that was the only game depicted I haven't played, heh)

The only thing that could have made it better is if it had been recorded from the other side of the field. :)

It's actually UC Berkeley, as in University of California.

Although I go to their rival school, so perhaps I should let any non-flattering falsehoods float by without protestation.

Here is Notre Dame's band doing Super Mario Brothers in November of last year.
