Jon Santos's Houndstooth Dogtent
Common Space designer Jon Santos created this handsome Houndstooth Dogtent for the first annual Freemans Sporting Club design/build camping trip. Jon says:
The design initiative called for a homemade primitive luxury commodity, "taking the rough out of roughing it." I reached out to my good friend Matt Penrose who works for Cereplast, a small company which distributes (yet to be properly termed) bio-degradeable plastic. We made a Dogtent for Louie, his boxer. One that can be rolled up and put into its own bag. Early design ideas were very ambitious but ultimately we were at the mercy of working with a material that was only available to us in sheet form, rolled up. Loomstate was nice enough to donate some organic cotton for the tent lining.Link

I will probably regret typing this, but it certainly looks like they're RUFFing it in style.
Right, they used to call them "pup" tents.
What great design merit is involved here?
more effective might have been a dog huddling under it in the rain, eyes peering out as if to say, "Why BACON, why are you BACON doing this to me BACON?"
Louie does not look impressed at the efforts that have gone into his comfort...he says "you stay in the tent, I'll be on the couch with a bone and some sexy girl dog action on Animal Planet"
@3 - The merit of punny
- a pup tent for puppies
- houndstooth for hounds
this is just brilliant
That cute boxer puppy needs some wall-to-wall carpeting!
My two are busy snoring in their fleece lined soft walled dog bed. Louie looks a bit like he's missing his. Since he's sacked out, I'm sure he spent a GREAT time running around meeting everyone and chasing everything else on 4 legs though.
? doesn't everyone share their sleeping bag when camping?
