Now all we need is a 303 and 808 simulator, and we can drop acid beats anywhere with a web connection!
@Deadmeat: You're thinking of some sort of REBIRTH perhaps?
God I remember running ReBirth on my PowerMac 6100 way back in the day. It would be cool if someone made that web based or flash based like Deadmeat was saying.
The sound of that slightly distorted 909 kick melts my heart just a little. Roland is responsible for many of my favourite instruments, chiefly the TB-303. If I had $300 to spare that's what would be on my license plate right now.
I like playing around with the Hydrogen Advanced Drum Machine. It's free and intuitive and several drum kits are available such as Roland 606, 626, 707, 808, and 909.
This is most excellent. Andre Michelle, the
creator, says he's working on 303 and 808 versions too. The web site says you can
download a self-contained Flash version to run
on the Adobe AIR platform but it won't install for me. Given that Propellerheads has now
given Rebirth away for free, it's a toss up.
A drum machine is essentially a drum simulator, so this is a drum simulator simulator.
awesome stuff, i never new how great the control system is, it surpasses the of most modern drum machines.
