Case holds stun gun and iPod
Shawn Wolfe says:
LinkIf this isn't the ultimate expression of the Blackwater-friendly secularized anesthetized screw you idiocractic times we're living in, I don't know what is.
It's a handy "holster" that holds your Taser and your MP3 player, so you don't have to be troubled by anyone ever... not even by their agonized pleading.

love how the MSNBC article describes it as a "handy new item"... golly gee, i was wondering when someone was going to let me carry my torture device and digital music in one compact solution!
Secularized is bad?
"Secularized"?
It's not an iPodĀ®, it's just an mp3 player:

It creeps me out more that there are "pink fashion Tasers" and "leopard pattern fashion Tasers" available. Stylish AND incapacitating! Wow!
WASYLM and MATTYMATT
no, not bad necessarily
I was reading "Dark Ages America" by Morris Berman so I had that on the brain this morning when I saw this. In it he describes the differences between "secular" and tribal cultures, the distinction being that the West makes a virtue out of the I-Got-Mine-You-Get-Yours atomization of people from one another...."all I need is this iPod... and this Taser... and this paddle ball game.... that's all I need.... and this Thermos.... and that's all I need..." all ear-budded off and armed and not to be bothered.
This "handy" item seemed to illustrate his point.
Heil, Blackwater!
the package should include a 1-click way to get a bunch of mp3s and videos of the "don't taze me bro" incident onto the ipod
I keep my iPod in my holster sometimes.
Although now that I think more about this particular item I come to question the wisdom of storing sensitive solid-state electronics right next to a device meant to emit tens of thousands of volts.
Actually, some of the iPod wanna be players fit nicely in the spare clip pocket of some holsters.
For those who like to listen to tunes while taking aim. (couldn't resist that bit of trivia)
This might just be a resident of a Manhattan talking, but this strikes me as pragmatic. In the last 3 weeks, two people have been robbed and one person murdered on my girlfriend's block. The murder was probably gang-related, but the robberies both involved students; one had her iPod taken and one his iPhone.
While I'm certainly hesitant to advocate a society that runs around armed with Tasers, this doesn't sound like the most egregious measure for someone concerned about her safety.
"A clever man might have a weapon under there..."
Okay, here's a new piece from today's Salon.com about these Taser Parties...they are "the new Tupperware Party".
This is all perfectly normal.
