Japan's chief cabinet secretary says alien spacecraft are real
Japan Probe report that Japan's chief cabinet secretary Nobutaka Machimura said UFOs (meaning alien spacecraft, not flying objects that have not been identified) are real.
Link | BBC storyYes, UFOs do exist, Japan’s top government spokesman said on Tuesday.
The comment by chief cabinet secretary Nobutaka Machimura drew laughter from reporters at his regular briefing on government policy.
Earlier the cabinet, responding to an opposition lawmaker’s question, issued a statement saying it could not confirm any cases of unidentified flying objects.
“This is an issue that the nation is interested in — it is a defence issue and a confirmation operation needs to take place,” Ryuji Yamane, a lawmaker from the main opposition Democratic Party who submitted the question to the cabinet, told Reuters.

He said.. "Personally, I definitely believe they exist" which was a personal opinion, and not an official government position.
This is clearly a disinformation campaign to distract the Japanese citizenry from their government's failure to address the far more pressing giant robot/alien moth crisis.
The only intelligent politician there is.
The aliens are actually other possibilities of life on Earth. Prepare for Third Impact.
First solve the domestic Godzilla problem, genius.
Damn! That's why they are going full tilt at implementing Gundams !
Hopefully they are really hot alien schoolteachers we can placate with sex and pocky.
He should have said, "I personally believe, that UF Objects... such as flying saucers, and...
Perhaps the UFO's haven't come yet, because they also have problems getting access to maps.
It all comes down to these pesky maps I tell you.
That makes me wish that Japan's Defense Forces had a UFO Defense Strategy.
I doubt that you can watch The Secret Nasa Transmissions, The International UFO Congress Footage, 1952 UFOs over the Capitol, etc, etc (do your own research) and still deny the existence of these things as a legitimate phenomenon. The evidence is overwhelming.
Really, as long as wackjobs like Huckabee are serious candidates here, we in the U.S. have no business ridiculing this guy. Aliens aren't any more ridiculous than a 4000 year old earth.
(do your own research) and still deny the existence of these things as a legitimate phenomenon. The evidence is overwhelming.
No, it isn't overwhelming. I've done the best I can from the internet. There is no convincing evidence based on what I can tell. If Nobutaka Machimura really believes this then let him produce the bodies or the hardware that proves his claim. Otherwise he is either a fool or playing a game.
I have actually seen some of the wreckage from the Roswell crash. I'm serious. Not serious like I'm serious when I'm kidding. Really serious this time. You can see it at the excellent UFO/Space museum in Hakui, Ishikawa, Japan.
The reports you've no doubt read about the flexible metal covered in strange markings scattered about the scene are absolutely true.
'Course, the "flexible metal" is very clearly mylar, and the "strange markings" are a purple floral pattern...
Seriously (again, not the "kidding" kind), if you believe any of this crap, you have a very active imagination. I loved The X-Files, but Mulder's poster really said it all about UFOlogists: they want to believe. So they do.
But that doesn't make any of it true.
you know, strictly speaking there are plenty of ufos, it seems to me: anything flying which we haven't identified at any given time. debate about whether ufos exist always seems kind of dumb to me for that reason.
what debates about the existence or otherwise of ufos are really about is their origin: whether it's terrestrial or not. it'd be kind of nice to use a term which reflected what we were actually talking about.
ah. it's a pity i didn't read the above article properly, since the lead sentence makes exactly the distinction i just made.
my apologies for writing without reading.

Perhaps, but there are still no unicorns (or UFOs).

Somewhere along the line, every advanced civilization invents the Holodeck, and that's the end of them.
No, seriously!
um... i was gonna say something about the vast universe we find ourselves in AND as if we little mammals know something but i changed my mind.
besides, i'm saving THE TRUTH for my upcoming bestseller.
pocky !
This is just one of the many reasons why they developed Mechagodzilla.
Oh I am familiar with the Fermi paradox RealCatholicMen.
It's a well stated argument (with math!) that essentially says that the real mystery is why we *haven't* been visited by aliens.
meh.... Not quite so much math as shear guesswork. The math isn't so hard, it's actually knowing the correct values to put into the equation that is the real stumper. How many life sustaining planets are there in our galaxy? No one has the slightest clue. How many Earth like planets give rise to technological civilizations? No one has the slightest clue. How many of those civilizations survive the discovery of nuclear weapons? No one has the slightest clue.
There is a pattern there.
I think it is highly likely that there are other life forms out there. Unfortunately I also think it might be that the vase distances between us makes any kind of galactic civilization impossible. So we may not be alone in the Universe but on the other hand we may be so isolated that we may just as well be.
Japan is the only nation on earth willing to take the Zentradi question seriously.
They have mechs. When the poop goes down, they will be the ones to protect us.
We didn't know about the F117 or SR71 for a number of years, and anyone who'd spotted one before their acknowledgment had thought they'd seen a 'UFO'. (technically they were unidentified)
I'm sure the Japanese have 'picked up' someone elses covert aircraft - that are relatively unexplainable.
It's silly to say that "they haven't come yet" -- we have no idea if they have or not. Our modern world is a blip in time, and all of human civilization is still a very very small fraction of the time that this planet has been around, let alone inhabital.
To get the attention of other intelligent life, we need to send out notice that we're here. We've been making the noise of an infant society for, at best, just over a hundred years now.
Now, consider the radius around earth that these communications have traveled: it will be lifetimes before our presence can be identified by another society elsewhere. Then, providing they can travel these vast distances, it will take even more time for their interplanetary missionaries to make it here and setup shop with the latest and greatest monotheistic belief system that, judging by our past lack of reason, our plebeian race will clamor on to and use as justification for the perpetual degradation of individual liberties, paving the way for warrantless thought-tapping.
I for one, will welcome our monocled overlords.
check out the disclosure project:
"On Wednesday, May 9th 2001, over twenty military, intelligence, government, corporate and scientific witnesses came forward at the National ... all » Press Club in Washington, DC to establish the reality of UFOs or extraterrestrial vehicles, extraterrestrial life forms, and resulting advanced energy and propulsion technologies. The weight of this first-hand testimony, along with supporting government documentation and other evidence, will establish without any doubt the reality of these phenomena, according to Dr. Steven M. Greer, director of the Disclosure Project which hosted the event."

Mylar was invented by Dupont in the early 1950's. Roswell spaceship crashed in July 1947. So whatever it was Kyle Armbruster saw, it could not have been Mylar. A US Army Officer in the Army Air Corp Intelligence cannot tell the differance between a balloon and spacecraft / aircraft of some sort? Now that is unbelieveable.
When I was in elementry school I was told that the stars in our sky were like our sun but did not have planets in orbit. Now over 100 planets have been discovered orbiting distant stars. I was told that life could only exist within a narrow acceptable temperatures, must have sunlight. We have discovered life on the ocean floor that lives in perpetual darkness and uses chemical reactions near a vulcanic vent to live and thrive. I have heard estimates that our galaxy has between 100 and 400 billion stars most of these stars will have planets. Is there life elsewhere? It cannot be otherwise. Can the vast distance of space be transvered? Just because we do not currently have the technology does not mean its impossible. We have only examined the very tip of the iceberg of quantum physics. As we dig deeper we will find the key to travel the vast distances of space. Would the American government lie to the American people? Of course its done on a daily basis. Are UFO's visiting this planet? Most likely. Because not only has this Japanese government offical believe UFO's exist, so do airline pilots, police, military pilots,Astronauts and Cosmonauts have come forward with their stories. Even President Truman said in 1950; "I assure you alien spacecraft are real." It is just a matter of time before it becomes public knowlege. How much time will be decided by those who seek the truth and are willing to speak out.
