Evil Mad Scientist Labs's BristleBot uses a pager motor and a toothbrush head to make a tiny, vibrating remote controlled robot. Looks like a fun xmas holidays project for the kids!

The BristleBot is a simple and tiny robot with an agenda. The ingredients? One toothbrush, a battery, and a pager motor. The result? Serious fun.
The BristleBot is our take on the popular vibrobot, a simple category of robot that is controlled by a single vibrating (eccentric) motor. Some neat varieties include the mint-tin version as seen in Make Magazine (check the video), and the kid's art bot: a vibrobot with pens for feet.

Call me crazy, but I'd be wary to stick that thing exposed and all into my very moist mouth. Add toothpaste and you've got one quickly broken project.

The video isn't available any longer (YouTube sucks, I'm sure you would've got permission to host the video on bbtv ...), but as far as 'remote controlled' is concerned, I'm going to say: Bullshit!
