Cop fetishist burglarizes police station
Yukio Toho, 36, was arrested for breaking into a mini police station, called a police box, in Nagoya, Japan. After nabbing him, police raided his house and found a collection of stolen cop gear including police notebooks, handcuffs, filing cabinets, and batons, according to the Mainichi Daily News. During his most recent caper, Toho was after a specific souvenir. "I was interested in the doorknobs," he apparently told the fuzz. Link (Thanks, Paul Saffo!)

In related news, an alien flying saucer invasion of Nagoya was thwarted by a mysterious stranger, after which the mini police station made a sound like a thousand elephants trumpeting and faded away.
They have very inventive wackos over there in Japan.
What lazy American would take the time to drive around and spit coffee on women or try to steal doorknobs and filing cabinets from police stations?
@Geno: I want some of what you're taking.
Has there been anyone (caught, documented, etc.) who likes to steal ... security alarm systems? Whether from areas guarding these police boxes mentioned in the post, or from other locales?
To me, trying to steal something that by definition is aimed at preventing theft -- there's some sort of meta-irony, yet brilliant idea. in that. If it was done the right way -- and if that was the sole fetish, the theft of the security apparatuses themselves.
@Kvltpunk, That's a really fun idea for a prank. You should do it and we'd be happy to post about your adventures on BB! : )
lol, Dr. Who reference. The current Doctor is apparently Asian.
Could you change the word "burglarizes" to "burgles" please? Half the number of syllables and grammatically correct; after all, we're not talking about a burglarizer.
Thanks =)
Irregular Shed @ #6: do you prefer "pedantic" or "pedantical?"
At least he wasn't an encyclopedia salesman.
Shrdlu, didn't you mean to ask Irregular if "anal-retentive" is hyphenated or not? :-)
Geno,
It's only hyphenated if used as a compound modifier preceding the object.
