Note to PR people
PR people, please remember that we don't ever accept PR pitches via direct email. Pitching us that way is a waste of time because your pitches won't get read and any future emails from you will be filtered directly into the trash. It's a disservice to your clients. Thank you.

@Nickd (#1), Yeah, thanks, we previously linked to that and also this interesting bit of aftermath.
I'm in Digi-pr, and can definitely say that you guys are clear that you don't take pitches via email. We were all abreast of the PR-mageddon that went down last month, and stick to the form when we think y'all might be interested in something. PR people who email y'all are just too lazy to take you off their lists.
PR is like any other industry. There are some smart, hard-working people and a whole lot more lazy idiots. Even in the digital world, good PR relies on developing working relationships with actual, live people, even if you never meet them face to face. Spamming someone is not generally regarded as a great way to begin a relationship. Except the penis enlargement spam. That works really well.
man, that response from K'Shawndra Jenkins is kind of harsh...
Yes, and K'Shawndra Jenkins is very well known in the world of online PR and on the Internet in general. Link
The K'Shawndra Jenkins response is actually fairly typical. She doesn't get it, and is either too scared, lazy or self-important to bother trying.
If you wanted to be really mean, you could make her into a slag term.
As in:
"Note to PR folk: Please don't kshawndra us. Use the online form instead"
"Yes, and K'Shawndra Jenkins is very well known in the world of online PR and on the Internet in general."
I see what you did there, David.
Dillo, i like it. As long as I am in the PR industry, I pledge not to Kshawndra anyone!
On another note, my Kshawndra filter in Gmail is almost working at 100%.
Then according to K'Shawndra Jenkins' estimate:
2,873,321 = Total population of Chicago (2006)
2,120,511 = 73.8% are 18 or over
212,051 = Chicago-area adults have read or contributed to a blog in the last 30 days
Way to go BoingBoing!
And for the record, I have absolutely no problem with PR people in general. There are quite a few that I work with frequently and respect a great deal.
Gabriel, that's Bing-Bong, isn't it? (It took me a minute to figure out that "K'Shawndra" was being funny, then I giggled out loud!)
