Lovely Art Painted by Bugs

Picture 8-23

Gareth says: "Hey, elephants and chimps (and children) can do a pretty good job of abstract painting, so why not bugs? Artist Steven R. Kutcher dips the creepy crawlers in (watercolor) paint, or has them traipse through it, and then he lets them scurry across the canvas (watercolor paper)." Link

it's weird how that one looks like an eye

I always thought bugs were pretty; who knew they were talented too? : - D

Nice. I love how organic they look. Would love to try this on my own sometime.

Look, it's the eye of a profile with a furrowed brow above it!

In my shower, there was this one stain of soap scum that looked like a ninja head, and it had two realistic looking eyes, and no one else in my family seemed to notice it, and I never ever got around to taking a pic of it- even when we got the shower door replaced.

But meh. As humans, we're bound to find faces in the things we look at.

And as ninjas, we are bound to find ninjas in the things we look at.

Non-toxic watercolour paint?

Bet little Stevie pulls the wings off when he's finished, dead artists sell so much better.

Hmm, something tells me washing paint off butterfly wings just doesn't quite return them to normal.

The one on the right looks like a volcano spewing blue lava.

The bugs painted an eye, because that is one of their desires-- or at least i assume that's why bugs are always flying into my eyes when i go backpacking.

I wonder what cockroaches would paint. . . .
