Girl's extra arm to be removed

Extraarm Ren Xin, 11, has an extra arm growing from her back. Next week, surgeons in Beijing plan to remove the arm. The News.com.au's brief article about Xin not only references Lakshmi, the little girl in Bangalore who last week had an extra set of arms and legs removed, but also Dede, the Indonesian "Tree Man" with the bark-like growths on his body.

Dede's skin condition is very similar to that of another reported on Boing Boing back in March: http://www.boingboing.net/2007/03/12/photo-of-unusual-ski.html.

The article calls this HPV - Human Papilloma Virus
