EXSTEAMINATE!!!!!!

Argh! What's with the embedded flash ad in the rss feed? Makes confusing reading of stories if they all look the same as the ad is so big.

Aren't daleks kinda steampunk to begin with. Certainly great aspects of Doctor Who, from Hartnell onwards have had a retro/Victorian feel.Nice artwork, mind you.

Very nice work, but I've got to prefer the clean(er) lines of the original. The caterpillar trax would make a good addition to a Special Weapons Dalek.

I know I'm a big nerd, but I had never caught up with the good doctor until about a week ago. I loved it of course, but something occured to me. Has someone ever produced a line of Dalek shaped bug sprayers? You know, for EXTERMINATing them.

(Sorry if this is a repeated thought for those of you who follow me on teh twitter, but I feel it's a worthy idea whose time has come.)

i agree that dr. who has always had a steampunky aesthetic, whether the creators consciously knew it or not. that's part of the doctor's appeal -- he's a DIY type of guy!

the past couple years of dr. who have been especially steampunk influenced, i think. i always get a little leap of joy when we get to see the inside of the tardis, with its seemingly-random gears and dials, and tubes and blinky things all hither and yon.

A steampunk unicorn, obviously.

Dr. Who was the best. Only thing I'd bother turning the TV on for.

Aren't Daleks pretty steampunk already?

The two circles in a Venn diagram of Dr Who fans vs steampunk fans would probably overlap nearly completely.

AHAHA it's a Dr. Who reference inside a post about Dr. Who!

(adherents of the repeated meme? hello? anybody besides me remember that?)

That is flipping awsome!!!! I love Doctor Who and Steampunk is a new discovery for me. This is the perfect combination. And yeah Doctor Who has always kinda had a Steampunk feel. I don't think anybody realized it. It is because the Doctor makes his own stuff and the TARDIS is like the epitomy of steampunk! All that fantastic technology but with such archaic (relativly) controls. Awesome. And yess I remember the Adherents of the Repeated Meme. Cool. Has anyone seen the 2008 Christmas special "The Next Doctor"? It is TOTALY a delve into Steaqmpunk. There's this completely steampunk giant Cyberman menacing the streets of Victorian London. Bloody Fantastic!
