Nice looking mural in San Francisco
Todd says:
This is Victorion, a new mural by Sirron Norris that he recently completed on Balmy Alley in San Francisco's Mission District. (Balmy is a small alley that's lined with colorful murals, many of which have political themes.)LinkI love it -- it's sort of a Mission District version of Transformers crossed with Howl's Moving Castle, done in the style of a twisted kiddie cartoon.
The theme, of course, is preserving the character of the neighborhood from the relentless onslaught of condos and redevelopment -- Victorion is subtitled "El Defensor de la Mission." But independent of that, the mural itself is pure genius, with incredible details that only get better and better the closer you look.

This is great. Its the type of work I'd want to look at everytime I went by it, feeling like maybe there's that one little detail I'd missed.
Too bad there arent posters or prints of this. It'll have to do as my desktop.
There's another one in Jay's Cheese Steak on 21st between Mission and Valencia.
It's more Voltron than Transformers actually.
I own a couple of paintings by Cirron Norris. I love them.
I love this guy! He's got pieces all over the Mission. The bears are a running theme.
@ CarnyTrash Are you sure that's the correct spelling of his name? Google has nothing on the guy. I'd like to price some of his work.
@ dolface
yeah! i thought this looked familiar! i ate there one time before a show... great cheese steaks!
It's actully Sirron Norris.
In Panama, it is an almost lost battle against the developers, who seek to erase all traces non-crowded living and replace nature for concrete. I made a picture of it:

There's a mural in the North Laines, Brighton UK that's a map of the area
