Mr Uncertain's ragtime punk haunt-rock

Mr Uncertain is a creepy, funny musician (Dan "Journal of Ride Theory" Howland describes him thus: "Imagine if Queen were fronted by the ragtime piano player from Disneyland's Main Street") whose haunted songs veer from ragtime to punk to ballad, all within the space of a few bars. I think that's really Rufus Wainwright in drag.

I like their style and I viewed their music video clip on their website. Nicely done. I like the phrase "We Don't Care About Nothin'. We Don't Care About Anything..." (ungrammatical, then grammatical). Just in time for Halloween.

Interesting look... But that's about it. One of those acts that apparently spend a lot more time on persona and style than on writing anything worth listening to.

Oh, phooey! Does every band have to be deep and intellectual? Perhaps you're just missing out for not having seen Uncertain live. Who else could speak of that special love shared by so many... that love that can only bloom 'In the Bathroom'? I, for one, enjoy the old-timey cabaret feel. You, my friend may go suck a goat. Or just not like Uncertain. That'd be all right, too.

Of course not. I never said anything about this act not being deep or intellectual. My favorite types of bands are of the frivolous variety, but they know how to play their instruments. This band does not.
