HOWTO make sugar skulls

Shawn from These Foolish Things posted a quick tutorial on making sugar skulls for Día de los Muertos. He ordered the supplies online from MexicanSugarSkull.com (seriously), which has a fine selection of Día de los Muertos decorations and supplies that are sure to make you the life of the party. It's actually very easy. We use our molds to make paper mache versions, too, which we decorate with dimensional paint...they come out pretty close to the real thing, and you can keep them without getting mice. :-)

i enjoy making a few batches of sugar skulls every year. the intoxicating aroma of the sugar wafting through the house is almost magical. i give most away, but, i still have some that are years old and have never had a single mouse drop by to admire them. i have a step by step photo tutorial on my site as well.
