Maker Faire Austin: a look back
If you're like me and didn't make it to the Maker Faire Austin last weekend, MAKE: blogger Phil Torrone has collected a slew of photos, videos, news articles, and other documentation of the DIY extravaganza. Maker Faire is definitely one of those "you had to be there" events. But if you weren't, this is the next best thing. (Photos by Scott Beale/Laughing Squid.)

Here's a great photo set of the wonderful Makers and their gadgets, contraptions, and amazing art. It was an amazing weekend for all attendees and makers. Thanks to Phil and company for coming to town and Keeping Austin Weird and nerdy!

I made it, and it was amazing. I volunteered Thursday and Sunday, and had a fabulous time. I spent all Saturday just walking around, taking it all in. For me, the coolest part was just seeing all the makers talk about making stuff. I saw Bre, Mark, Phil, Gareth, Lady Ada, and so many more. To those who brought it here: thank you, thank you, thank you -- I can't wait until next year.
